How to make Desiccated Coconut
Method 1 : Stove Top
Heat a pan and add the grated coconut to it.
Dry roast the coconut in lowest heat without browning.
Saute till it is dry and no moisture content is left. It took 12 - 15 minutes for me.
Remove from the pan and cool it completely. Store in an air tight container in refrigerator.
Method 2 : Oven
Preheat the oven to 120 C/250 F.
Line a baking tray with parchment paper and spread the shredded coconut in the baking tray.
Bake it in the oven for 15 to 20 mins. Stir it in between.
It should be dry and brittle. If not place it back in the oven for 5 - 10 more minutes.
Cool it completely. Store in a air tight container in refrigerator.
