Paneer Butter Masala

Ingredients

  • 250 Grams Paneer cubed
  • 3 Toamtoes
  • 2 Onion
  • 5 pods Garlic
  • Ginger – a small piece
  • 10 Cashews
  • 3 Dry red chillies
  • 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1 inch Cinnamaon
  • 2 Cloves
  • 2 Cardamom
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 1 tbsp Kasuri Methi
  • Salt as required
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Cream
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar

Instructions

  • Keep your ingredients Ready!
  • Chop tomatoes and onions.
  • In a pan, add 1 tbsp of butter.
  • Add cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and bay leaf. Onion, tomato and cashews.
  • Now add red chillies, ginger and Garlic. Fry for few seconds.
  • Add chopped onions and cook till translucent.
  • Now add chopped Tomatoes.
  • Cook till tomatoes turn mushy. Switch it off. You can remove bay leaf and grind into Fine paste.
  • Add Remaining Butter to the pan.
  • Now add the Ground masala to the pan.
  • Add Red Chili powder, Garam Masala, salt and ¾ cup of water.
  • Let it simmer for 5 mins.
  • Add ½ tsp of sugar.
  • Now add Cubed Paneer and cook for 2 - 3mins.
  • Add Fresh Cream and Kasuri Methi. Mix Gently and Switch off the flame.
  • Transfer to Serving dish.

Notes

  • Serve with Chapathi, roti, naan, Lachcha paratha or any Indian bread.Serve with Jeera rice or Ghee Rice.
  • Fresh Cream is Optional. It gives Restaurant style Taste to the Paneer butter Masala. If you are calorie conscious, you can avoid that.
  • You can remove the whole spices before grinding and again this is also optional.
  • For bright Colour, add Kashmiri Red chilli powder.
