Instructions
Preparation
. Soak pacharisi/ raw rice for minimum 30 mins.
Method
In a pressure cooker, add ghee
Add moong dal and fry for a min
Now add the soaked rice and required salt
Add 5 cups of water and let it cook for 5 whistles.
Let the pressure release naturally. Mash the rice and dal mixture with the back of the ladle.
In a pan, add ghee
Add cashews and fry till it turns golden brown
Add cumin, pepper, ginger and green chilies
Let the cumin splutter.
Add the tempering to the cooked rice and moong dal mixture.
Mix well.
Notes
Serve hot with sambar, chutney. Medu vada is also a good combination.
