Ingredients

  • 4 Potato
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • Salt as required
  • 2 tbsp Oil

Instructions

How to make chettinad potato fry

  • Cut potatoes into 2 and pressure cook for 1 whistle
  • Or
  • In boiling water, add potatoes and cook for 5 – 7 mins.
  • Peel off the skin and cut into small cubes.

Method:

  • Add Oil in a pan.
  • Add the cooked potatoes and curry leaves to oil and mix well. Potatoes should be covered with oil. Roast till potatoes turn golden.
  • Now add the spice powders and salt. Mix well.
  • Roast in medium heat for 5 - 7 mins. Roasting potatoes requires patience. But the result will be great.
  • Switch off the heat.
  • Serve hot with curd rice or rasam or sambar.

Notes

  • Adjust Spice level according to your taste preference.
  • Cook potatoes Partially.
  • Add Pepper powder for a nice flavour and spicy potato fry
