Ingredients

  • 1 cup Finger Millet / Ragi flour
  • 1/4 cup Rice Flour
  • 1 Onion finely chopped
  • 2 Green chilies finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • few Curry leaves finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp Curd optional
  • Salt as required
  • 2 tbsp Oil

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix the Ragi flour, Rice flour, chopped onion, green chillies, cumin seeds, Curry leaves, curd and salt.
  • Add enough water to make a runny batter. The batter should be thin like Rava dosa.
  • Heat a dosa tawa. Once it is hot enough, reduce to medium heat.
  • Take a ladle full of batter and pour from a height over tawa in circular motion. Fill in the gaps if any. The dosa should be thin.
  • Drizzle oil around the dosa. Cook the dosa in medium flame.
  • When the edges started coming off, flip the dosa.
  • Transfer the dosa to a plate once it is well cooked.
  • Serve with chutney or sambar or pickle.

Notes

  • Beginners may feel difficult to spread the batter over tawa with chopped onions in it.
  • Instead of adding onion to the batter, you can sprinkle the chopped onion over the dosa and cook.
  • Ragi takes time to cook. So cook in medium flame for 2 - 3 minutes.
  • For Crispy Ragi dosa, keep the batter runny.
  • Serve with Coconut Chutney or Kothamalli Chutney.
