Ingredients

  • 2 cups Whole Wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup Spring Onions chopped
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1/2 tsp Ajwain / Omam
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin / Jeera
  • Salt as required
  • Oil or Ghee as required

Instructions

  • Keep your Ingredients Ready.
  • In a Mixing Bowl, add 2 cups of Wheat flour, Required salt, 1 tsp of Red chilli Powder, ½ tsp Garam Masala, ½ tsp Ajwain , ½ tsp Jeera, 2 tsp of oil and the main ingredient, ½ cup of Chopped Spring Onions.
  • Mix everything with your fingers.
  • Now add water in parts and mix well and knead the dough. Be careful while adding water, as spring onion will release water. Form dough which is smooth and tight. Maximum resting time can be 10 mins.
  • Form small balls out of the dough.
  • Take a ball, dust it with flour and flatten it with your palm.
  • Roll into 5 – 6 inch circle.
  • Heat a tawa. Once the tawa is hot, place the rolled Paratha.
  • Cook for 30 seconds on one side, flip the paratha.
  • Spread oil or ghee over the paratha and cook for 30 seconds.
  • Flip again and Spread oil or ghee.
  • Remove it to a serving plate, when both sides are cooked.
  • Repeat the same procedure for remaining Parathas.
  • Serve it hot!

Notes

  • As a variation, you can add finely chopped Green Chilies instead of Red chili Powder.
  • You can also add Potatoes to the dough. Cook the potatoes and mash it well. Add this while kneading the dough.
