Chocolate cakes are true classics. Chocolate in any form is loved by my husband. He loves chocolate cake and I wanted to surprise him with a homemade cake. There started my interest for baking. I have tried and failed many time. Practice makes man perfect. Now I can proudly say I bake good cakes. This is the moistest chocolate cake I have ever baked. If you do not have Oven at home, Don’t worry this Recipe – Chocolate cake in cooker / Cooker Cake is for you! This Chocolate cake in Cooker recipe is tried and tested many times. If you follow the recipe to the T, you would get the most amazing Cooker cake. Baking is all about correct measurements.

Chocolate Cake in Cooker

Ingredients

  • 150 grams All purpose flour / Maida
  • 215 grams Granulated sugar
  • 50 grams Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 Egg
  • 120 ml Butter milk
  • 120 ml Warm water
  • 40 ml Any flavorless oil
  • 1 tsp Vanilla essence

Instructions

Preparation:

  • Butter 9-inch cake round pan. Dust with flour and tap out excess.

Method:

  • Sift all the dry ingredients (flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda) together.
  • In a Mixing bowl, add oil and sugar. Whisk well. It should form foam.
  • Add egg, vanilla essence, buttermilk, warm water and whisk well.
  • Preheat the cooker for 10 min in high flame.
  • Now gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.
  • Pour the mixture to the dusted pan.
  • Double tap the pan to release any air bubbles.
  • Place the pan in cooker and bake for 40 mins in low flame or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Remove the pan from cooker and rest it on wire rack.
  • Turn the pan upside into a plate and remove the cake from the pan.
  • Let it cool for few more mins.
  • You can frost with any frosting of your choice

Notes

  • You can also Replace Oil with Butter.
  • You can use Wheat Flour instead of All purpose Flour.
  • Bake the Cooker Cake in low flame.
  • Pre-heating the Cooker is Very Essential.
  • You can decorate with Desiccated Coconut by sprinkling on the top.

How to make Chocolate Cake in Cooker

  1. Sift all the dry ingredients (flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda) together.
  2. In a Mixing bowl, add oil and sugar. Whisk well. It should form foam.
  3. Add egg, vanilla essence, buttermilk, warm water and whisk well.
  4. In a cooker, add 1 inch of rock salt and place a metal plate over it. Remove Gasket from cooker.
  5. Preheat the cooker for 10 min in high flame.
  6. Now gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.
  7. Pour the mixture to the dusted pan.
  8. Double tap the pan to release any air bubbles.
  9. Place the pan in cooker and bake for 40 mins in low flame or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Remove the pan from cooker and rest it on wire rack.
  11. Turn the pan upside into a plate and remove the cake from the pan.
  12. Let it cool for few more mins.
  13. You can frost with any frosting of your choice
