They will thoroughly enjoy the process and also eating the potato smileys. My kid demands snack which are different and new. Then I browsed for recipes and got the idea of potato smileys. She was very much excited and even brought shapes like triangle, star from her toys and asked me to use it. The recipe is so simple. All you need is Potatoes, corn flour and bread crumbs. How to make potato smiley

  1. In a bowl, add boiled and grated potatoes, corn flour, bread crumbs, chilli powder and salt.  Mix well to form a soft dough. Do not add water.
  2. Now let the dough rest in refrigerator for at least 30 mins.
  3. Divide the dough into two equal parts.
  4. Roll the dough into large and thick circle. Now with the help of a cookie cutter, cut small circles.
  5. Using a straw, make eyes and using spoon a smile.
  6. Repeat the same for remaining dough.
  7. Now rest the smileys in refrigerator again for 30 mins.
  8. In a pan, heat oil for deep frying the potato smiley.
  9. Once hot, keep in medium flame and drop the smileys carefully. Fry till golden and crispy. Drain the smileys on paper towel.
  10. Serve hot with ketchup.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Boiled and grated Potatoes
  • 1/4 Cup Bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp Corn Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • Salt As required
  • Oil for Deep frying

  • If you are unable to shape the dough, try adding more bread crumbs.
