Honey Toasted Paneer with Sesame seeds – A delicious Paneer preparation with Chinese flavours infused. This sweet and spicy Paneer goes well with chapathi, roti, etc.,

Indo chinese recipes are popular part of Indian food and this honey toasted paneer with sesame is one such recipe. I served it with chapathi and my family loved it so much.

I recently joined a facebook group called Food bloggers recipe swap. Here, we are paired with another blogger and have to recreate a recipe from their blog. This is a great way to learn new recipes from different cuisines and also make new friends. This is my first month of recipe swapping and I’m paired with Sandhya Ramakrishnan of My Cooking Journey. She has amazing collection of recipes. I shortlisted many of her recipes for recipe swap and settled on Honey toasted Paneer with Sesame.

I followed her recipe exactly and the result was so good. The flavour of bell pepper along with Paneer was so good. Also the toasted sesame seeds enhance the dish so much. My daughter loved it, as this has mild sweetness from the honey.

How to make Honey toasted Paneer with Sesame seeds

  1. Cut paneer into small cubes. wash and Cut Onion, Bell pepper and Tomatoes into 1 inch cubes. Finely chop green chillies.
  2.  In a pan, add butter or Oil for shallow frying paneer. Fry paneer till golden brown on all sides. Remove paneer on a kitchen towel.
  3. With the remaining oil in the pan, slightly cook Onion and bell pepper. Add ginger garlic paste and green chillies and saute for a while.
  4. Now add Tomato puree, Chilli powder, cashew paste, soy sauce, tomato ketchup and salt. My gravy was thick, so I added little water. Cook for few minutes.
  5. Add the fried Paneer to the gravy and let it come to boil.
  6. Now mix honey with warm water and add it to the gravy.
  7. Roast the sesame seeds in a pan. Add this to the gravy.
  8. Garnish with Spring Onions or coriander leaves.
  9. Serve hot with Chapathi or Roti!
