Besan ki roti Recipe – It is a delicious North Indian roti made with Besan flour and wheat flour. Besan Roti is a great breakfast option which is very healthy.

Besan ki roti smeared with butter

You can have this roti without any accompaniment. It tastes that good. Or you can have with any side dish of your choice. Onions, green chillies give wonderful taste to the roti. In this recipe, I have used milk for forming the dough. Adding milk makes the roti very soft. Try this delicious Besan ki Roti recipe and let me know your comments. Besan ki roti | Besan Masala Roti

Besan ki roti is a delicious North Indian roti made with Besan flour and wheat flour.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Besan Flour
  • 1/2 cup Wheat Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Carom seeds / Omam
  • Milk – as required
  • 2 tbsp Ghee
  • 1 Onion – 1 finely chopped
  • 4 Cloves Garlic finely chopped
  • 1 Green chilli finely chopped
  • Coriander leaves – few
  • Salt – as required

Instructions

  • In a pan, add oil.
  • Once hot, add garlic and green chilies.
  • Now add onions. Cook till it turns golden. Remove to a serving plate.
  • In a wide bowl, add wheat flour, gram flour, salt, coriander leaves, carom seeds, cooked onions.
  • In a small pan, heat 2 tbsp of ghee and pour it to the flour mixture.
  • Knead well and form dough.
    Keep it covered with a wet cloth for 20 mins.
  • Knead well. Form small balls out of it.
  • Meanwhile heat a Tawa.
  • In a banana leaf or plastic sheet, apply oil. Place the balls over it and press it with your fingers to make it flat.
  • Apply oil to your fingers as well to avoid sticking. Place this flattened dough over tawa.
  • Drizzle 1 tsp of oil over roti. Cook for 30 seconds on one side.
  • Flip and cook for 30 seconds.
  • Remove to a serving plate.

How to make Besan Ki Roti

1. Keep your Ingredients Ready!

2. In a pan, add oil. Once hot, add garlic and green chillies.

 

3. Now add onions.

4.Cook till it turns golden. Remove from heat.

5. In a wide bowl, add wheat flour, gram flour, salt, coriander leaves, carom seeds, cooked onions.

6. In a small pan, heat 2 tbsp of ghee and pour it to the flour mixture.

7. Knead well and form dough. Keep it covered with a wet cloth for 20 mins.

8. Knead well. Form small balls out of it.

9. Heat a Tawa meanwhile.

10. In a banana leaf or plastic sheet, apply oil. Place the balls over it and press it with your fingers to make it flat. Apply oil to your fingers as well to avoid sticking.

11. Place this flattened dough over tawa. Drizzle 1 tsp of oil over roti. Cook for 30 seconds on one side.

12. Flip and cook for 30 seconds.

13. Remove to a serving plate.
