Muttai Paniyaram or Egg Paniyaram is a quick and easy breakfast recipe. It is very easy to make as it requires dosa batter and eggs as main ingredients. The paniyaram will be very soft and spongy and everybody at home will love it for sure. You can even serve this as a snack for kids. Muttai Paniyaram or Egg Paniyaram is a quick and easy breakfast recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 Egg
  • 2 cups Dosa batter
  • 1 Onion finely chopped
  • Curry leaves finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Salt as required
  • 1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Ura dal
  • Oil as required

Instructions

  • In a bowl, add 2 eggs.
  • Add Red chili powder, turmeric powder and salt. Beat until fluffy
  • Add 2 cups of Batter to the egg and mix well.
  • In a pan, Add 2 tsp of oil.
  • Add mustard seeds and urad dal.
  • Now add curry leaves and onions. Cook till translucent. Beat until fluffy
  • Heat a paniyaram pan. I used Non-stick pan, so I didn’t add oil.
  • Once hot, pour a ladle of batter into each slot. (Fill it 3/4th, as eggs will puff up)
  • Cook in medium flame for 2 mins.
  • Flip it and cook for 1 more min.
  • Soft and Spongy egg paniyaram is ready!

Notes

If you want your paniyaram to be more spongy, add 1 more egg. 

Step by Step Procedure with Pics:

1. Keep your ingredients ready!

2. In a bowl, add 2 eggs.

3. Add Red chili powder, turmeric powder and salt.

4. Beat until fluffy.

5. Add 2 cups of Batter to the egg and mix well.

6. In a pan, Add 2 tsp of oil. Add mustard seeds and urad dal.

7. Now add curry leaves.

8. Add onions and cook till translucent.

9. Add this to the batter.

10. Heat a paniyaram pan. I used Non-stick pan, so I didn’t add oil.

11. Once hot, pour a ladle of batter into each slot. (Fill it 3/4th, as eggs will puff up). Cook in medium flame for 2 mins.

12. Flip it and cook for 1 more min.

Soft and Spongy egg paniyaram is ready!
