Nethili 65 | Nethili Fish Fry is a delicious starter which is loved by all age groups. It is so crispy and delicious which will make you ask for more.
I always had the desire to try this small Nethili fish. But we had access only to River Water fish. After settling down in Chennai, we get lots of sea water fish here. One of my favourite is Nethili Fish. The bones in the fish are so soft and you need not remove while eating. It will be crispy and crunchy. If the fish is little big, you can easily remove by making a slit in the middle and remove the bone.
The recipe is so simple and easy. Rice flour and Corn flour gives the crispy texture to the recipe. As we love spicy food at home, I have added red chilli powder and pepper powder. You can adjust spice level according to your taste. Try this recipe and let me know your comments. Follow step by step Procedure with pictures. How to make Nethili Meen Varuval / Nethili Fish Fry
1. Keep your Ingredients Ready!
2. Clean and wash the fish well. Drain the water completely.
3. Add all the ingredients mentioned above except oil. Mix well. Let it rest for minimum 30 mins.
4. In a pan, heat oil for deep frying. Once the oil is hot, add the marinated fish pieces and fry until golden and crisp. Remove to a kitchen tissue. Excess oil will be absorbed.
5. Serve hot. Crispy Nethili Fish Fry is ready.

Ingredients
- 250 Grams Nethili
- 2 tsp Red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Pepper powder
- Salt as required
- 2 tsp Ginger-garlic paste
- 2 tbsp Rice flour
- 1 tbsp Corn flour
- Oil for deep frying
