Spinach Pulao | Palak Peas Pulao

Palak Peas Pulao is a simple, quick and healthy Pulao which can be made in one pot.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Cooked Rice
  • 1 bunch Palak
  • 1/2 cup Peas
  • 2 tsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 3 Green chilies
  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1/2 tsp Roasted Jeera Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin
  • Salt as Required
  • 3 tbsp Oil

Instructions

  • Keep your ingredients ready!
  • Spread cooked rice in a plate
  • Blanch Palak Leaves and cool
  • Once cooled, Blend it into fine puree
  • In a pan, add cumin seed.
  • Now add slit Green chilies.
  • Add onions and cook till translucent.
  • Now add ginger-garlic paste and cook till raw smell leaves.
  • Add turmeric powder, roasted jeera powder and garam masala. Cook for 2 mins in medium flame.
  • Now add peas and ½ cup water. Cook till peas become soft.
  • Add palak puree and salt. Cook for 5 mins in medium flame.
  • Now add cooked rice and mix well.
  • Serve with Raita!

How to make Palak Rice

1. Keep your ingredients Ready!

2. In a pan, Bring water to boil. Add the palak leaves to it. Also add 1 tsp of sugar to retain fresh green colour. Cook for 5 mins and switch off. Let it cool.

3. Once cooled, Blend it into fine puree

4. In a pan, add oil. Once hot, add cumin seed.

5. Now add slit Green chilies.

6. Add onions and cook till translucent.

7. Now add ginger-garlic paste and cook till raw smell leaves.

8. Add turmeric powder, roasted jeera powder and garam masala. Cook for 2 mins in medium flame.

9. Now add peas and ½ cup water. Cook till peas become soft.

10. Add palak puree and salt. Cook for 5 mins in medium flame.

11. Now add cooked rice and mix well.
