Sheela Fish Fry / Sheela Meen Varuval – A Spicy, crispy and delicious fish fry with Sheela Fish(Barracuda). It is a great appetizer for fish lovers.  Four pieces of fried sheela fish in a plate

My DH loves fish fry. This crispy fish fry with Sheela Fish is one of the simple recipe which never fails to impress him. You can use any fish for this recipe. There are many variations which I do in fish fry. The recipe requires very few ingredients but tastes so good. This is the simplest of all. I prefer frying over Tawa rather then deep fry. Non-stick Tawa helps you to use less oil for frying. Though this fry is made over non-stick tawa and consumes less oil, this is so crispy and tasty. Wait for more posts on fish fry. This Fish is one of my favourite fish other than Nethili Fish and Vanjaram Fish Fry. Now off to the recipe. Follow this recipe and let me know your comments.

  3. Let it marinate for at least 20 mins. Marinated fish can be either deep fried or roasted over a tawa. I prefer roasting over tawa.
  4. Heat a tawa and spread a tbsp of oil all over it. The tawa should be very hot. Only then the masala will stick to the fish.
  5. When the tawa is hot, place the pieces and drizzle some oil over it. Cook for 1 min on one side and then flip it. Cook it for another 1 min and reduce the flame to medium. Roast it for a min on both sides and transfer to a serving plate.frying on tawa
