Mutton Keema Masala/ Kothukari Masala is a curry which is made with minced mutton and spices. In this recipe, there isn’t much spices added, but it is truly delicious. You can have this Mutton Keema Masala with Idly, Dosa, Poori, chapathi or Rice. Its tastes so good with any of the above mentioned. I learnt this recipe from my mom. Mutton Keema Masala
Ingredients
- 250 Grams Mutton keema
- 15 Shallots
- 1 tsp Red Chilli powder
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 2 tsp Coriander powder
- Salt as required
- 2 tsp Ginger garlic paste
- 1/4 tsp Mustard
- 1/4 tsp Urad dal
- 3 tbsp Oil
- Curry leaves – few
- 1 tbsp Roasted gram dal
- 1 inch Cinnamon
- 2 Cloves
Instructions
- In a pressure cooker, add oil.
- Once hot, add mustard seeds and let them crackle.
- Now add Urad dal. Let it turn golden.
- Add curry leaves and shallots.
- Cook till translucent.
- Add keema, red chili powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder.
- Add ½ cup water and cook it for 3 whistles.
- Let the pressure release naturally
- In a blender, add roasted gram dal, cinnamon and cloves. Grind it to a fine powder.
- Now add this powder to the keema and cook for 3 – 5 mins.
- Finally add chopped coriander leaves.
- Switch off the heat at desired consistency.
