Meal maker 65 | Soya Chunks 65 Recipe – A Popular Meal Maker / Soya Chunks starter which is very crispy and truly addicting snack. Nobody can stop with just one. This Meal Maker Fry is one of my all time favourite Starter. 

Soya 65

Soya chunks (also called as Meal maker or soya nuggets) are made from soy beans and is a very good source of protein. They are considered to have protein content equivalent to that of eggs. they work very good as meat substitutes. If you are vegetarian / vegan, you can use soya chunks to incorporate protein to your diet. As meal maker is rich in protein, it is good for kids. Checkout more about Meal Maker here. You can add it in biryani, fried rice or make soya chunks fry or you can substitute in any non-veg recipes instead of meat. It tastes so good. Meal maker absorbs the flavour well and tastes delicious.

Meal Maker 65 (also called as Soya Chunks) is a perfect evening time snack with a hot cup of coffee or tea. This is so easy and a super hit snack item. There are many ways like which this can be made. Everyone will have their own method. Use the same ratio of flours as I have used. This recipe yields yummy and crispy Soya Chunks which tastes more like Non-veg. How to make Soya Chunks 65

  1. In a bowl, bring water to boil. Add soya chunks and switch off the flame. Close with a lid and let them sit for 10 mins.
  2. Drain the water and wash the cooked soya chunks in cold water well. Now squeeze the soya chunks to remove water and keep aside. If you are using bigger variety of soya chunks, then cut into 2 pieces.
  3. In a bowl, add corn flour, rice flour, ginger garlic paste, chilli powder, Garam masala and salt.
  4. Add 2 tbsp of water and make it into a paste. Do not make it either too thick or too thin.
  5. Add cooked Soya Chunks to the masala. Mix well. The masala should be coated all over the Soya Chunks.
  6. Heat oil in a pan. Check if the oil is hot enough for frying, by dropping a very small piece of Meal maker. It should rise immediately.
  7. Drop the Meal maker into pan. Do not over crowd the pan.
  8. Fry it till golden. Remove it and drain on kitchen tissue.
  9. Now fry curry leaves. Place curry leaves over the perforated ladle and gently place it in the oil. Remove it quickly once curry leaves starts frying.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Soya Chunks
  • 1/4 Cup Corn flour
  • 2 tbsp Rice flour
  • 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • Curry leaves
  • Salt as required
  • Oil for deep frying

Tips for making Soya 65

  • Rinse the soya chunks twice before squeezing. This helps in getting rid of the smell.
  • Maintain the ratio of flours if increasing or decreasing the quantity.
  • Serve it hot. Crispy, yummy Meal Maker 65 / Soya Chunks Fry is ready.
  • Garnish with onions and a lemon wedge.
