Pallipalayam Chicken Recipe – A Spicy and delicious chicken recipe, each bite will make you want for more. Learn Chicken Pallipalayam recipe with step by step pics.
We first had this Pallipalayam chicken in a restaurant called junior kupanna. It was absolutely delicious and the dish got over in no time. I wanted to recreate the recipe at home and I have to say it was a success. Pallipalayam chicken requires very minimal ingredients. You can make a lip-smacking Chicken dish with just 5 ingredients. I used Nattu kozhi / country chicken for this recipe(If you are a regular visitor to my blog, you would know I mostly use Nattu kozhi rather than Broiler Chicken). So I added water to cook the chicken. If you are using Broiler chicken, there is no need to add water. Cooking in low flame for 30 -40 mins is sufficient.
Dry red chillies, shallots and small pieces of coconut are main ingredients. You need lots of red chillies for this recipe, approximately 15 – 18 for ½ kg Chicken. De-seed the red chillies by cutting it half and removing all the seeds. Adding coconut gives a nice taste to Pallipalayam chicken. When you eat chicken pieces along with coconut, you will taste the spiciness of the chicken as well as mild sweetness from the coconut. Do not substitute onions for shallots. You definitely need shallots for Pallipalayam chicken.
